Terms of service
These terms apply to work carried out by us and to the use of this website. They are short because the business is.
Reviewed 2026-08-15

1. Who we are
Anvil & Oak Appliance, an independent appliance repair business operating from St. Augustine, FL, serving St. Johns County and the surrounding area within 40 miles.
2. Diagnostic and estimate
A visit begins with a flat $80 diagnostic. It is payable whether or not a repair follows, and it is credited against the repair if you approve the work on that appliance. A written estimate comes before any part is ordered or any labour is billed. You see that estimate, and approve it, before anything happens.
3. Approval and changes
If the appliance turns out to need more than the estimate covers, work stops and we re-quote. You are never billed for an amount you have not seen and approved. An estimate holds for 30 days; parts pricing beyond that is subject to supplier changes.
4. Payment
Payment is due on completion of the visit. Parts are billed at cost plus the labour to fit them, stated separately. We do not take deposits for stock parts; special-order parts that cannot be returned are quoted as such before ordering.
5. Access and site conditions
We need safe access to the appliance and to its gas, water and electrical supply. Built-in equipment may have to be drawn out of the run; we take reasonable care, but we are not responsible for the condition of flooring, cabinetry or countertops that were already compromised, nor for damage caused by an installation that does not meet the appliance's own clearance requirements.
6. Work we will refuse
We will decline any job we consider unsafe or outside our scope. That includes fuel conversions without the correct orifice set, gas line and dedicated-circuit work that belongs to a licensed trade, and any appliance made by anyone other than Viking. Refusing is not a judgement about you; it is the limit of what we can do properly.
7. Warranty
90 days on labour, 365 days on parts, genuine OEM parts only. The full terms and the exclusions are on the warranty page and are part of these terms. Our warranty is our own and is separate from any cover provided by the manufacturer of the appliance.
8. Limits
Our liability for any claim connected with a repair is limited to the amount you paid us for that repair. We are not liable for consequential loss — spoiled food, lost hire, a delayed event — and we recommend you do not rely on a single appliance for anything you cannot afford to lose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Cancellation
Cancel or move a booking by phone at any time before the technician is dispatched, at no charge. If we arrive and cannot gain access, the diagnostic fee is payable.
10. Use of brand names
Viking and every model number on this site are the property of their respective owners and appear here only to identify the appliances we service. No manufacturer logo, typeface or colour scheme is used anywhere on this site.
11. This website
The content here is written to be accurate and is offered for information, not as a repair instruction. Working on gas, refrigerant or mains-powered equipment without the training for it is dangerous. Follow our bench notes as background, not as a manual.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Florida, and any dispute belongs to the courts of St. Johns County, Florida.
